Mystic Woodlands
Ang Tribu Bagbobo Woodlands (ATBW) is an upland resort in Sitio Mahayag Barangay Binaton, Digos City.
ATBW is not an ordinary resort. It is a mystical paradise hidden in the vast woodlands of the Bagobos.
In this mystical paradise you’ll have a chance to encounter astounding creatures such as the “FAIRY MOTH”. Out of the 165,000 identified species of moths in the whole world, the “FAIRY MOTH” in ATBW will surely get your attention.
The FAIRY MOTH contains a lady-like image that resembles a FAIRY IN THE WOODLANDS. Up until now we don’t know what is the exact name of the said moth.

There are only a few people that had seen this moth and I am one of the lucky ones that personally encountered this moth. Because of the lady like resemblance of the Madonna of this moth I named it the Fairy Moth. My nephew Regulo Garnet Abajero Guloy Datird in one of his night adventure collecting species of insects in the Woodlands without knowingly has taken a photo of the fairy moth. The Bagobo Elders that live on the vicinity of the Woodlands told me about the fairies that live in the gully (forest) and being a sceptic I brushed off these stories and just have to respect the elders on their beliefs. My personal encounter of this moth was an experience that I can't truly described. I was frozen to death that my whole body shivered in fear and totally in shock. My younger brother Rio Apollo Abajero Yukyuk was with me that time and I asked his opinion about what we are seeing. His brief description was that the lady face was smiling and it looked like a human. After that encounter we decided not to tell anyone and we counted ourselves blessed that we were given the opportunity to meet this wonderful creation by God. Jose Ariel Carreon Jumilla Aying who at that time was also working at Woodlands who he pioneered the plant beautification of the Woodlands (those beautiful vibrant flowers you can see was Ayings ideas) also encountered this moth. Indeed we counted ourselves lucky and perhaps the moth was telling us to continue to look after the environment and protect their habitat. To all visitors at the Ang Tribu Bagobo Woodlands Upland Resort I hope you can also encounter this beautiful creature and consider yourself blessed if you personally see one. I had referred this photograph to Terry Lynch world renowned expert on fireflies and insects and he told me that he has not seen before a specie like this moth.
