Exploring ATBW
G’day, fellow adventurers and thrillseekers!
It is I, your trusted wilderness explorer, who will guide you as we traverse the clean and green “Ang Tribu Bagobo Woodlands”and witness the profound beauty it possesses.
Located at Brgy. Binaton, Sitio Mahayag it is expected to be rich and abundant in natural wonders. To my surprise, my expectations were exceeded the moment I descended a few footsteps from the entrance.
The environment is the epitome of nature at its finest. Quiet and serene, it is one of those rare moments when all you could hear are the gentle whispers of nature. The cold atmosphere will never fail to embrace you despite the presence of the bright rays of the sun. Gone are the noisy uproars of the busy city life. Gone are the polluted atmosphere and the skyscrapers covering the sky. The air is fresh and the trees are everywhere.
The strange flowers welcomed me as I neared the nice and cozy resthouse. They are of various shapes and colors. One, in particular, resembles a wedding bouquet.
They gleamed in the bright sunlight. As I walked on, an enthusiastic monkey greeted me by showing off some of its tricks on a tree. I named him “Abu” and he seemed responsive enough.
Speaking of animals, the whole place is filled with strange insects that are rarely seen by the average Filipino. At least in my case.
So there are several butterflies and a whole lot of moths. The latter has odd shapes of wings and unique patterns of colors.
The main highlight, however, is the good ol’ group of fireflies. When the sun sets to make way for the moon, the fireflies will illuminate the night with the stars in the sky.
